my story

Teacher to experience creator.

nice to meet you

Hi, I'm Amy.

I started out as a schoolteacher with two big loves: teaching and travel. Turning those passions into a purpose took me from the classroom to entrepreneur, author, and co-founder of Village Impact, the charity my husband Stu and I started to bring education to kids in Kenya. I'm a mom of two, and Kenya has become my second home.

For years I've been creating experiences for my charity, my community, and the women who travel with me to Kenya. And I've learned something: the moments people remember are rarely the big ones.

It's the welcome at the door. The note they didn't expect. The way it all ends.

I notice these things everywhere I go, in hotels, shops, events, and retreats. Now I help businesses find those moments too.

xo, Amy

adventure is my middle name

40+ countries and counting.

I've travelled to more than 40 countries. I've hiked the Tour du Mont Blanc, Machu Picchu and the Great Wall of China, taken on two 29029 events, driven rickshaws in Sri Lanka and India, and ridden motorcycles in Scotland and Morocco.

And Kenya keeps calling me back: 10+ trips and counting, visiting our Village Impact projects, with every moment designed from the first welcome to the last goodbye.

Village Impact

Stu and I co-founded Village Impact after meeting families in Nakuru County, Kenya, who were rebuilding their lives after being displaced by the 2007–2008 election violence. Standing in an empty field with our local partner, we saw children with no school to go to, and a community eager for change.

Today, we partner with communities, local leaders, and the Government of Kenya to build schools, support teachers, and inspire students to dream big and pursue entrepreneurship.

the book

Passion to Purpose

A seven-step journey to shed self-doubt, find inspiration, and change your life (and the world) for the better.

In it, I share the lessons I learned on my journey from schoolteacher to entrepreneur and co-founder of Village Impact. Once I named my passions for teaching and travel and turned them into my purpose, everything changed: more joy, and more impact.
